2007 Update: I have removed their original link on my site, it shows as a 404 error, but then it redirects to porn. Gave me a fucking virus too. It's not Lech's fault though, just the way the internet rolls. I found a new link for them and added that below. They had all of their gear stolen in Texas. They lost just about everything, and they are accepting donations to help recoup some of the damages. Please help them out, they are a kick ass band. Due to the stolen gear, they had to cancel the rest of their tour. Vader Cabinets have endorsed Kreishloff and more endorsements from Kahler Tremolos, In Tune Guitar Picks, Warwick, and Saluda Cymbals. Over the summer, they signed with Unique Leader Records. Currently, they are trying to get new gear and writing new material. They also have a new release out called Adoration of the Blade.
2006
Update: I received this from the band: Deepsend Records is pleased
to announce the signing of Greenville, SC, based extreme-metallers Lecherous
Nocturne to the Deepsend Records roster. The band is currently playing live
shows throughout the east coast and finishing the recording process for
their debut full-length album ‘Adoration of the Blade’ due in
2006 on Deepsend Records which will feature NILE guitarist Dallas Toler-Wade
on drums and bassist Mike Poggione of Monstrosity. This new onslaught promises
to be one of the most original, extreme metal releases unleashed this year.
Keep an eye out for a late spring/early summer release on Deepsend Records.
For the time being, the band has uploaded unmastered versions of Kompagne
and Release in Flame from Adoration of the Blade on their Myspace page here http://www.myspace.com/lecherousnocturne
Look for Lecherous Nocturne to be on the road supporting Adoration of the
Blade sometime after the official release.
Interview
with Jason from Lecherous Nocturne, by Jen
You
guys blew me away when I heard your CD last year. You remind me of a cross
between Krisiun and Incantation. Do you think that is a good description
of the way your music sounds? How would you personally describe your music?
Thanks.
I would have to say that is a pretty good description. Personally I think
we have much more influence from Gorguts, Cryptopsy, Angelcorpse, and
Immolation, but it’s not bad to be lumped in with those two great
bands. We describe our music as Aggressive technical extreme black/death
metal.
When was the CD released? How long did it take
to put together, write the songs, etc.
The self-titled EP was released in late 2003. Two of the songs
we had lying around for awhile and we just wanted to get them on disc
and get them out. The rest were written specifically for that CD.
Where you happy with the outcome, the production,
etc.
Some of us were happier than others. The strength of the songs were great
I think. The production was decent for a first release.
You guys are a fairly newer band, what have
the reaction been from people who have the CD?
We have been getting a very strong response to the CD. I haven’t
read a negative review of it yet. So far everyone seems to be enjoying
it.
You guys recently had some member changes, what
happened there? Do you feel you are a stronger band with the new members?
As soon as we signed to Embryo Records, our bassist quit because he couldn’t
tour. Then our drummer quit because of the same reasons, only a little
while later. We picked up bassist Joe Payne from Lust of Decay, and then
Dallas from NILE joined on drums. Joe is an amazing bassist and we feel
he is a permanent member now. Dallas still plays guitar with NILE, but
whenever they have down time he is completely dedicated to helping us
bring LN to the underground masses. I definitely feel that this is a much
stronger unit now with those two aboard.
The end of last year, you opened for Fear Factory.
How was that experience? Was that the biggest band you have opened for?
What other bigger bands have you played with?
Fear Factory was very cool to us. They actually knew who we were and that
was nice. The place was packed and there were kids killing each other
in front of us, and that’s always nice.
What is the scene in South Carolina like? Lots
of bands to play with? Lots of kids coming to the shows?
The scene is growing in SC. There are some great locals who are on par
with some of the nationals, and the clubs are getting fuller every show.
Some of the bigger local draws are Juggernaut, Noxious, Enable Kain, Calus,
and Southpaw. The kids here in the South are really looking for somewhere
they can go and hear great music.
What are some influences of the band?
Well, as mentioned before, we love Gorguts, Angelcorpse, Immolation, Cryptopsy.
Old Morbid Angel would have to be in there. Marduk, Dark Funeral.
You also play with a band Shaitan Mazar, who
has John and Chief, formerly from Nile. How are you able to split your
time between bands? Does it effect Lecherous at all? Do you play shows
together?
With Dallas playing guitar with NILE, I really have a lot of time to write
and perform with Shaitan also. It doesn’t affect LN at all. Kreishloff
and I are constantly writing LN material on our own, so when we get together
we have things already worked out. And no, Shaitan and LN haven’t
played together yet.
How did your merchandising deal with JCM records
come about?
They contacted us about distributing our CD, and after the Embryo Records
fiasco we had nothing to lose. JCM puts our record in the stores and online
and we couldn’t be happier.
Is there any label prospects? If not, what is
wrong with them?!?!
No label prospects yet. I guess they want to see what’s next for
LN. We are perfectly happy to produce our own CD and then see if they
want the finished product.
Did you guys come from previous bands, and if
so, who were they?
- Kreish and I played in a thrash/death band together in the 90’s.
Chris Lollis came from a band called Desecration. Joe came from Lust of
Decay. And of course Dallas plays in NILE.
Top 5 releases of 2004?
Mastodon-Leviathan
Lamb of God-Ashes of the Wake
Isis-Panopticon
Marduk-World Funeral
Shadows Fall
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Thanks for the interview and support Jen. We’re all
fans of the site. Keep your eyes open for the new Lecherous Nocturne full-length
Adoration of the Blade. It slays ANYTHING we’ve ever done…
