2007 Update: These guys have had a busy year. March they released Insanity of the Obsessed, which is also available on Century Media. They were suppose to open for Sinister, however the show got canceled in April. They opened for Deicide in San Diego and clips from that are on their website now. In August, they were nominated for best hard rock album for the San Diego Music Awards. At the end of September, they added a new piece to their website, all stuff you can add to your computer. They also have a Warface musicplayer, which is pretty cool. Guitar tab's for their previous album is out now too, just check their website for the links. Their myspace link is added below.

Update: Here is an excerpt of a press release I got for these guys:
HOLLYWOOD (June 19, 2006) - Deathquake Records is proud to present Death
Metal Trio WARFACE and their full-length debut Insanity of the Obsessed.
Insanity of the Obsessed is a follow up to their self-titled EP Warface,
which was released in 2001. Their previous release achieved them critical
acclaim in the underground. Metal Maniacs Magazine praised WARFACE as “A
little piece of all the major players that defined death metal is packed
into one little three-piece [Warface]." The debut date is August 15th.
Interview
with Laura from Warface, by Jen
The
CD I heard from you guys, was a self titled. Tell me a little
about that, when it came out, when the songs were written, etc.
We recorded that EP after only being together for 6 months and released
it in the fall of 2001. Most of the writing for that CD was done in the
first 6 months we were together.
What has the reaction been to it so far?
So far the reaction has been endless, amazing and incredibly positive.
Do
you have any plans in the near future to record more material?
We are finishing up pre production right now and will be heading into
the studio shortly to record our full length.
Did
you get any label knocking on your door after the first release?
A few.
Are you pursuing any currently?
We recently signed with Deathquake Records, Inc.
Tell me a little about the band, when you got together, how it all became,
etc.
Dave and I have known each other since '96 and in early 2000 decided to
team up and put a band together, we then looked for the right drummer
to complete the line up which we found in late 2000 with Scott.
Have the members been in previous bands?
All of us were in other bands previous to Warface. But none of them seem
to work until now.
Since you guys are a 3 piece, do you guys find
it more difficult to get the sound you want?
We have been fortunate to have been able to pull off a very full, huge
sound with just the three of us.
Have you thought of adding a 4th or 5th member?
No, we like being a three piece and don't have a need for additional members.
Dave handles vocals and bass. Myself on guitar. And Scott on drums.
Describe your music to someone who has never
heard you.
We are death Metal with an interesting twist on riffs that is the essence
of our music. Metal Maniacs recently described us as MorbiSuffObituPyrexiBrokeNapalmSlayeTopsy
You guys have been around for just a few years,
since 2001. How are you getting your name out there?
Some Magazines, Webzines like Jensmetalpage.com,
:) the Internet, word of mouth.
Do you get a lot of people who find your band
just by surfing the net?
Yes
What is the scene in CA like? Do lots of kids
come to the shows?
The scene in CA keeps growing. The kids come out of the woodwork when
there's an all ages event.
Do you get to play out a lot? What bands do
you play with out there? Any favorite playing out experiences?
Recently we've been locked away finishing up the writing on the full length.
However, we've played out a lot with a ton of great bands local and national.
The last show we played was probably one of my favorites... it was at
a local venue here in San Diego. It was when Cattle Decapitation was touring
with Deicide and Deicide and a couple others had to cancel that night
off the tour and Cattle gave us a call just a few hours before the show
and invited us on the bill. The venue was packed and the crowd was killer,
there was great sound dialed in, and all the bands were rippin.
Top 5 albums of 2004?
Our top 6 were from Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Immolation,
Decrepit Birth & Dimmu Borgir
Any new releases you are looking forward to?
Immolation and Nile
Anything else?
Thank you very much for the interview, Jen. We greatly appreciate your
