2007 Update: There are tracks from the Born Again album on their myspace account, which I posted the link for below. The main link does not work anymore, this is from their myspace blog: "The hosting that we use has changed servers and it has unfortunatly caused some linkage problems with the site. Thanks for all the heads up, I promise that I'll get to it very soon... after the holiday weekend." I think he was meaning Labor Day, but maybe it will get fixed after the Christmas holiday. They did play the amazing show in Oklahoma with a billion other hair metal bands from the 80's. Gosh, I wish I could have gotten there. 2006 Update 2: From Warrant Press Release: WARRANT’s new release BORN AGAIN [Cleopatra Records], which was produced by famed producer Pat Regan (KISS, Deep Purple, Mr. Big). This is WARRANT’s first new material since 1997 and they are currently performing summer shows in support of the new CD. The first single ‘Bourbon County Line’ is gaining airplay across the states. “We wanted to make a record in the true Warrant fashion,” states Erik Turner, founding member and guitarist. “I think we accomplished that sound again. It sounds like what a Warrant record should sound like.” 2006 Update: I received this email from Jamie St. James: WARRANT is ready to release the new CD "BORN AGAIN" in Europe on March 31st. In America and Australia, end of May or June. DVD to follow so get your ass to the next show and have a BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAST YOU ROCKERS 2005 Update: Warrant has a new CD underway with producer Pat Regan with a summer 2005 release. It has a classic Warrant sound (DRFSR and Cherry Pie with a new twist). A tour is planned as well. Current members, Erik, Jerry, Steven, Joey and Jaime. Former singer Lane, he will be appearing on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club 2. Interview with Erik Turner of Warrant by Jen Tell us what it was first like to get out your first tape, DRFSR?It was a dream come true. A great feeling. This is what you work for, but to finally get where you want to be- just awesome! Were there any albums that you released in the past that maybe you weren't as proud of, or you felt you could have done better with? No, each record we've done represents where we were at musically at the time. When the grunge scene took over, glam bands weren't mentioned as much anymore. Without typing 900 pages, what has happened since the grunge took over? Music always changes - it's cyclical. For us personally, it didn't stop us, just because we weren't flavor of the week. Three studio albums, a live album, a greatest hits package or three, a cover album and probably a 1000 shows. Did you notice any change in your fan base? Album sales? No, just kidding ;-) Actually - you still have your fanbase, they just have other interests now. I hear you have an album called A Very Hairy Christmas waiting to be released...when is that coming out? We contributed one song to the album, we got payed and it never came out? Just looking back, there has been many member changes in the past. How has that effected you guys as a whole? Warrant is three guys Jani,Erik & Jerry. We stick together. How are Mike and Billy fitting in with you guys? How is the crowd with them? The crowds are always the same even though members have come and gone. Mike and Billy are awesome. Who has been your favorite band to tour with and why? Warrant, because its my band! I'm very curious to know, what bands do you listen to? Who is currently in your cd changer right now? NFG, No Doubt, Sheryl Crow, Rob Halford, Poison Out of all the bands you are going to be playing with on your upcoming tour (LA Guns, Firehouse, Dokken and Ratt), who are you looking forward to playing with most? We have toured with all these bands before. I love them all. What was your favorite cover you did for your CD "Under the Influence"? Toys in the Attic What is in store for Warrant in the future? More recording? More touring? It seems all we do anymore is tour, tour, tour...record soon I hope! What was the craziest thing that has happened to you while you have played with Warrant? I can't say : ).....read the book some day. What kind of people do you see at these glam shows now? Older people, younger kids? I'm surprised how many younger people come to see us.It's a mixture. Do you have any side projects happening? I do a little free lance web design and play as much golf as my wife will let me ;-) Gimme all your plugs and anything else you might want to add! Thanks to all those that support the Warrant !! http://www.warrantweb.net http://www.myspace.com/warrantband http://www.erikturner.com |
