AXAMENTA-
Codex Barathri
The keyboards in this has the whole Cradle of Filth feel to them.
They are pretty technical sounding. This is some of the fantasy
horror black metal. This is better than most of the black metal
I have heard in a while. They aren't as fast as COF, but they
do have their own sound and they do it well.
DAGORLAD-
The End of the Dark Ages
The intro is so soothing
The keyboards sound like something
you would hear in the Dracula, or scary movies from the olden
days. They have a dark medieval metal sound to them. It's melodic,
dark, evil and of course black/death metal. The songs have long
intro's, not all of them, but most of them. It's not my thing
at all.
DEVISER-
Running Sore
This is one of the oldest and best known Greek black metal bands.
I don't like it. When he is doing the death metal, it sounds so
low, you can barely hear him. With the exception of the high pitch
black metal vocals, they just sound like they were mixed too low.
I don't like the sound of the synthesizers either.
IMPEDIGON-
As Desires Fade
This has the whole In Flames feel to it. The whole Swedish melodic
metal. Too bad I don't like that. The vocals sound like they could
be a little black metal-ish. They are too high for me. They are
pretty fast. They have a good sound to them. Not my thing.
OCEANS
OF SADNESS- Laughing Tears, Crying Smile
This is metal, with a touch of black metal vocals. The sound of
the CD seems to be mixed really low. My stereo is turned up and
I'm having a hard time hearing. This guy tries singing in the
first song, and I think it sounds like my cat dying. Does not
sound good at all. This music has a atmospheric, powerful, death,
gothic, black metal feel to it.
PANCHRYSIA-
In Obsure Depths
More black metal from L.S.P. They are pretty fast. The ride cymbal
sounds pretty nice. I don't like the vocals though. They have
a modern day black metal sound with a touch of Immortal and Zyklon
to them. Just not my thing.
FAERGHAILl- Where Angels Dwell No More
Black metal. The vocals are tolerable though. They aren't ear
piercing vocals which is good. From what the sheet said on them,
I think their singer is a chick and she does the keyboards too.
The music is real melodic. This is $14.00 US if you are interested.
OCEANS
OF SADNESS- For We Are
Black metal mostly, but there are parts of doom, gothic and death
metal. I don't like the sound of the keyboards. The production
isn't the best either. Not a fan. This is also $14.00 US if interested.
STRATUZ-
Spirit Seduction
These guys are from Venezuela. I hear a harp in here and that
sounds pretty cool. Plus they are using some other sounds here
and there, which are neat, like background sounds. When the music
starts, it is death metal. The vocals are real low sounding though,
they could have been a little higher. The blast beats are pretty
tight. $14.00 US money.
